The Ambassador's Office

Welcome Address From The Ambassador

The Nigerian Embassy in Qatar is established to foster good relations between Nigeria and the State of Qatar. We are here to serve Nigerians living in Qatar as well as encourage Qatari nationals and investors to take advantage of Nigeria’s huge potential.

In GDP terms, Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa and 24th in the world. Blessed with natural resources including a vast endowment of solid minerals such as limestone, gold, diamond, iron ore and tantalite, Nigeria is Africa’s largest exporter of petroleum and natural gas, and sixth in the world. With a land mass of 923,768 km2, over 85% of which is arable, there is no limit to the country’s agricultural opportunities.

Nigeria continues to provide investment opportunities that are not only unique in the West African sub-region, but also throughout the continent of Africa. What is more, Nigeria’s status as the most populous country in Africa (one in every five black men in the world is a Nigerian) caps the accurate picture of the vast opportunities which Nigeria offers. For the investor, you will find viable prospects in agriculture, manufacturing, construction, telecommunication and financial services, among many others.

Back home, Nigeria’s democracy has come of age. For the first time in the history of the country, an opposition party defeated the ruling party and power was transferred in a peaceful and rancor-free atmosphere. Altogether, there are over 25 parties healthily competing against one another.

Nigerians are known to be warm, courteous and hardworking. The country welcomes visitors and investors with both arms. So, step into the Nigerian Embassy in Doha and you will experience effervescent welcome that will linger with you for a lifetime. Our website will continue to be a platform of service to all and sundry.

As we are fully accredited and recognized in the State of Qatar, we will, through this platform, disseminate information about Nigeria’s interest and opportunities. Truly, Nigeria is open for business and we welcome you all to its potentials.

Yours sincerely,

H.E YAKUBU ABDULLAHI AHMED
